About the artist

Jordan Smith is a Nashville-based artist whose work explores the fluid, unpredictable nature of life through layers of organic pathways. Growing up in a family of artists, Jordan developed a deep appreciation for creative expression, finding it a powerful means to communicate beyond words. His journey took a significant turn during the 2020 lockdowns, when an art documentary rekindled his passion for visual art. Since then, he has transformed his line drawings, originally inspired by a decades-old art class challenge, into a dynamic practice that spans both analog and digital mediums.

Jordan’s art reflects his belief that life is not a simple, linear journey but a series of twists, turns, and overlapping chapters. His layered compositions evoke a sense of time, memory, and transition, with each line and drip telling a story of past, present, and future. Influenced by the pop art, abstract expressionism, and contemporary art movements, his work balances spontaneity and intent, allowing for the unexpected to shape each piece.

Living in Nashville, Jordan draws inspiration from the city’s evolving landscape and cultural crossroads. His work has been featured in local galleries and live painting events, resonating with audiences who find personal meaning in his vibrant, interconnected pathways. Looking ahead, Jordan aims to expand his artistic practice into large-scale installations and immersive environments, envisioning spaces where his art can envelop and engage viewers on a grand scale.

My work explores life’s unpredictable nature through layers of organic pathways. Each composition unfolds as a journey, where color, texture, and form interact to evoke movement, memory, and time. The layered pathways flow intuitively, representing different chapters and turning points, while capturing the dynamic qualities of lived experiences. I aim to create art that resonates on a personal level, inviting viewers to reflect on their own journeys and find beauty in the shifting paths and possibilities life has to offer.
